December 6: National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

Dec. 6 holds an important significance in the women's sector in Canada. Today is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. It marks the anniversary of the Montreal Massacre in 1989 at École Polytechnique where 14 women were killed.

The Ontario Association of Interval and Transition Houses (OAITH)OAITH Femicide List created a memorial compilation for the victims of the Montreal Massacre with information on violence against women and a list of the women who have been murdered in Ontario this year as a result of sexist violence.  Please click here for the video.  For OAITH's 2013 Femicide List, click here.

Let us all work together better to end violence against women in our communities.
